The goal of Occupational Therapy is to maximize the patient’s independence in the activities of daily life. Occupational Therapists take into account the patient’s need to function in the contexts of their personal life, work, leisure school, family, and community in ways that facilitate the patient’s health and well-being.

Occupational Therapy is indicated for patients whose daily activities have been curtailed or disrupted by injury, illness, or a variety of other circumstances that may have limited their level of function and independence.
