Orthopedic Surgery

Stephen G. Glasgow, MD, FAAOS Steven G. Glasgow - M.D., F.A.A.O.S.
Dr. Glasgow attended the University of Pennsylvania for both undergraduate studies and medical school.  He completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania and a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the same institution under the guidance of Dr. Joseph Torg.  Dr, Glasgow is Board Certified and a fellow of the A.A.O.S. He is a team physician for Northern Illinois University. 

MIchele T. Glasgow, MD, FAAOS Michele T. Glasgow - M.D., F.A.A.O.S.
Dr. Glasgow is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.  She completed her residency training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York.  She completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and then a Shoulder Fellowship under the direction of Dr. Louis Bigliani at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. She is Board Certified and a fellow of the A.A.O.S.  She is a team physician for Northern Illinois University.

Photine Liakos, MD, FAAOS Photine Liakos - M.D., F.A.A.O.S.
Dr. Liakos is originally from DeKalb.  She completed both her undergraduate and medical school education at Washington University in St. Louis.  Her residency was completed at Washington University Medical Center.  She completed a Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Johnson at Washington University.  Dr. Liakos is Board Certified and a fellow of the A.A.O.S.

Russell J. Bodner, MD, FAAOS

Russell J. Bodner - M.D., F.A.A.O.S.
Dr. Bodner is a graduate of the University of Delaware.  He completed his medical school training at the University of California-Los Angeles.  His residency was completed at the University of Pennsylvania.  He completed a Fellowship in Trauma Surgery in Innsbruck, Austria under the direction of Dr. Emil Beck.  He also completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship under the direction of Dr. Richard Steadman in Lake Tahoe.  Dr. Bodner is board certified and a fellow of the A.A.O.S.  He is a team physician for Northern Illinois University. 


Rajeev K. Jain, MD

Rajeev K. Jain, M.D.
Dr. Jain joined Sycamore’s MidWest Orthopaedic Institute six months ago following a fellowship in lower extremity reconstruction at the prestigious Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, CA. He is the only orthopedic surgeon in the area who specializes in total joint replacement. He also has a special interest in treating hip and knee arthritis. He graduated from the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree at Michigan State University. He completed his internship and residency at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Michigan. He has authored numerous articles and presentations relating to the hip and knee and is in the process of completing several others.


John F. Lacart, MD

John F. Lacart, M.D.
Dr. Lacart did his undergraduate work at DePauw University and went to medical school at University of Illinois, Chicago and Rush Medical College.  He went on to do his surgical internship at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s.  Dr. Lacart did his residency at Northwestern University, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, St. Francis, and Lutheran General Hospital.  He did his fellowship at Northwestern University and was Chief resident at both Children’s Memorial Hospital and Northwestern Memorial hospital. 


Robert Swartz, MD, FAAOS Robert Swartz - M.D., F.A.A.O.S.
Dr. Swartz received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Illinois.  He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.  He went on to complete a fellowship / Hand / Upper Extremity Surgery at Harvard University.  Dr. Swartz is Board Certified in orthopaedic surgery and has a Certificate of added qualification in Hand Surgery, issued by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  He is a fellow of the A.A.O.S. 

    Neurosurgery

Martin E. Gryfinski, MD, FAANS Martin E. Gryfinski - M.D., F.A.A.N.S.
Dr. Gryfinski received his undergraduate degree in pre-med at Loyola University and attended medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago.  He completed his residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Neurosurgery.  Dr. Gryfinski is a member of the Congress of Neurosurgical Surgeons and is a fellow in the American Association of Neurosurgical Surgeons, (A.A.N.S.).  Born and raised in the Chicago area, Dr. Gryfinski attended Gordon Tech High School and now lives in St. Charles with his wife and three children. 

Rheumatology

Stephen Kozlowski, MD, FACR

Stephen Kozlowski - M.D., F.A.C.R.
Dr. Kozlowski received his undergraduate and medical school education at Loyola University of Chicago.  His residency was in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University Medical School.  Dr. Kozlowski went on to complete his fellowship in Rheumatology at the McGaw Medical Center at Northwestern University. Dr. Kozlowski is board certified and is a fellow of the F.A.C.R.  In addition to managing a full time clinical practice of rheumatology, he has dedicated himself to educating medical students and residents in the fields of arthritis and related conditions for the last twenty plus years.  


    Podiatry

Thomas S. Dwyer, DPM Thomas S. Dwyer, D.P.M.
Dr. Dwyer is originally from Chicago.  He is a graduate of Notre Dame University and completed his podiatry training at the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago.  He has been in practice since 1987, and joined Midwest in May of 2001. 

Shane M. York, DPM Shane M. York, DPM
Dr. York received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago. He went on to complete a comprehensive three year surgical residency specializing in foot and ankle disorders at Yale University Hospital. Dr. York is board qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is driven to continue to learn and teach. He has participated in numerous clinical trials and published articles in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

    Physician Assistant

Michael Wank, PA-C

Micheal Wank, PA-C
Micheal attained his BS with Honors at the Lyman Briggs School of Science at Michigan State University. He continued his education at Central Michigan University where he got his MS in Physician Assistant Studies.   Micheal is a Board Certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
