Matt attended Northern Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree in 2006. He earned his Master of Physical Therapy in 2008, also from Northern Illinois University. In 2009, Matt joined MOI.  He has pursued additional training in Manual therapy, a form of hands-on treatment techniques. Manual therapy allows increased joint and tissue mobility while reducing pain and improving function. Matt works with a wide variety of patient diagnosis, with a special interest in the treatment of patients with pain or dysfunction from their cervical, thoracic, or lumbar spine.

On the “Hands-On” Difference . . .
The variety of resources at MOI makes my job a lot easier. There’s always a lot of different areas of expertise to draw on so that the patient can excel with their unique plan of care. For example, my specialty is in manual therapy, hands-on techniques. We get joints moving to reduce pain and improve function. On Motivating Patients . . .
I try to motivate patients to achieve their own goals for the activities that matter to them. I show them where they’re at and they tell me where they want to go, and then together we find the best path to get them there.

On Life Outside MOI …

When not in the clinic Matt enjoys being active in the outdoors with his wife and two children Ben and Audrey.
