On Medicine . . .
At MOI, our philosophy is to practice conservative orthopaedic care. That means, whenever possible, we avoid surgery when we treat our patients. While we are experts at all kinds of orthopaedic surgery, we use it as a last treatment option. I enjoy working with patients to get them back to their prior level of function, whether in sports, work, or daily activities.
On Patients . . .
We have some of the best diagnostic equipment in the world, but sometimes you can learn a lot more from listening to your patients. I believe in treating my patients like partners. The more active they are in their care, the better the outcome. After being in an academic practice, where I was often torn between my responsibilities to the residents and fellows and the needs of my patients, I’m now enjoying private practice. Here I can devote all my time, skill and training to patients.
On Being Part of the MOI Team . . .
We are renowned as a regional referral center for orthopaedic care. More and more physicians are realizing that they no longer need to send their patients to downtown Chicago to receive the best possible orthopaedic services. Our physicians travel the country pursuing education in an effort to ensure that we always maintain the highest standards of excellence. While we are proud to be a regional center for orthopaedic care, we are part of this community and we are pleased to provide our neighbors with the best possible care.
